evolution of consoles playstation



PlayStation
Launched on December 3, 1994 in Japan and September 29, 1995 in the United States . Since its launch until 2006 ( when production was terminated ) , the PlayStation has sold over 103 million units , surpassed by its successor, the PlayStation 2 , with 150 million units sold . Initially the Play Station ( separate it) would be a CD - ROM for the SNES , being produced in conjunction with the NINTENDO . But the agreement between the companies was broken . SONY was furious with the decision . So Ken Kutaragi convinced executives SONY , to continue with the project . It was then that the division was born SONY COMPUTER ENTERTAINMENT , in order to implement the market , a new game console : PlayStation . Little did Nintendo , who was born  DINO CRISIS , PARASITE EVE , GRAN TURISMO , Crash Bandicoot , and many other games .

PlayStation 2
The PlayStation 2 (officially abbreviated PS2) is the second video game console produced by Sony Computer Entertainment, after the original PlayStation. It was first released on March 4, 2000 in Japan, October 26 in North America, and later, on November 24, 2000 in Europe. PlayStation 2 was the best selling video game console in history: There were more than 150 million handsets sold worldwide.

PlayStation 3
The PlayStation 3 (officially abbreviated as PS3) is the third video game console produced by Sony Computer Entertainment and the successor to the PlayStation 2. It was initially released on November 11, 2006 in Japan, November 17, 2006 in North America and March 23, 2007 in most of Europe and Oceania.

PlayStation 4
The Playstation 4 is the new console produced by Sony after the Playstation 3. The day of the console launch is scheduled for the end of year 2013. The price of the console is $ 399. The console will also include the new control Dualshock 4 will have new features compared to the Dualshock 3.
