The Nintendo DS is a portable game console developed and manufactured by Nintendo, released in 2004. He is visually distinctive for its design opens and closes, and the presence of two screens, with the bottom touch. The system also has a built-in microphone and supports wireless connection via Wireless Local allowing interaction between players within a small area (9-30 feet, depending on conditions), or the Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection, enabling multiplayer online with players from around the world.
The letters DS in the name were created to mean both the expression Dual Screen (Dual Screen) Developers and System (developers), which refers the innovative features of gameplay from the game developers. The system was dubbed Project Nitro during its development, as well as the Wii received the codename of Revolution.
On March 2, 2006, Nintendo released the Nintendo DS Lite a restructured version of the Nintendo DS, in Japan Soon after, in June was also released in North America and Europe.
Later would come the Nintendo DSi which would have a nicer interface, various functions, shop, 2 cameras, the same features of the Nintendo DS card slot for DS and DSi, SD card slot, bigger screens, 133MHz processor (twice the DS), 16MB RAM (four times the DS), among many other improvements.
